01 · Terminal

Every host, one keystroke away.

Ratatos imports your ~/.ssh/config on first launch, so your hosts are already there. Tag them PROD or STAGE, open them in tabs, and split the window when one session isn't enough.

  • Jump hosts, agent forwarding, keys or passwords
  • Split into up to four panes Pro
  • Type into every tab at once with Multi-Exec Pro
  • Snippets with parameters, plus 40 ready-made templates
  • Built-in MCP server for Claude Desktop, Cursor and other AI assistants: read-only by default, and you choose which servers they can reach

02 · Remote files

Your files follow your cd.

Every terminal tab has its own file browser in the sidebar. Change directory in the shell and the Files panel is already there. Drag files to and from Finder.

  • Folders open instantly from cache, then refresh
  • Built-in editor with syntax for nginx, YAML, Dockerfile and more
  • Or open in your own editor — saves go straight back to the server
  • Copy and paste between two servers Pro

03 · Tunnels

Ports forwarded. One switch away.

Keep the databases and dashboards you reach through SSH as named tunnels. A session's tunnel starts before it connects, and tunnels come back after your Mac wakes up.

  • Local, remote and SOCKS5 forwarding
  • System-wide SOCKS proxy in one click
  • WireGuard and wireproxy, too

04 · Monitoring Pro

Know which server needs you.

CPU, memory and disk for every saved server, with alerts as macOS notifications. Diagnostics find what's wrong with a server — and fix it only when you say so.

  • Services, Docker containers and live logs
  • Read-only checks: disk, failed units, OOM kills, pending reboot
  • Fixes run only after you confirm

05 · Privacy

No account. No cloud. No telemetry.

Ratatos runs on the OpenSSH you already trust — your keys, agent and ~/.ssh/config just work. Saved passwords are encrypted on your Mac and unlocked with Touch ID. The license is checked offline.

  • Sync through your own Git repo, end-to-end encrypted Pro
  • Encrypted backups, passwords only with your passphrase
  • Keys stay in ~/.ssh

Fast

Opens in under half a second.

Your last tabs come back with it, and an accidental ⌘Q won't drop open sessions.

Light

About 50 MB at launch.

Near-zero CPU when idle.

Native

Swift, not Electron.

No third-party dependencies. Runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel. Under 10 MB to download.

Measured on an M4 MacBook, macOS 15.6.

Connect in seconds.

Download Ratatos — it picks up your ~/.ssh/config, so your servers are there on first launch.
